Eating nightmares (they taste like black licorice)
Black licorice (lol)Strengths:
Dreameating – Eli mostly likes eating happier dreams, and while in some ways this is a bit troubling, if he has an enemy, it's a perfect way to get revenge. Like that dream about playing with your childhood friend? Too bad, Eli just ate it.
Nightmare Banishing – While he doesn't like the taste of nightmares, he is more than willing to eat them regardless if it is troubling someone. After all, it was his heritage's original purpose. Sometimes he spits it out though, if it tastes too bad.
Dream Scent – He is able to smell when someone is dreaming, and what kind of dream they are having. Weaknesses:
Unicorns – Eli has a rather strange fondness for dreams involving unicorns. If he smells a unicorn dream, he usually can't resist eating it . . . even if he likes the person having that dream. He usually apologizes excessively after he does it, but he can't seem to stop doing it regardless.
Side effects of eating Nightmares – While it helps the person he's eaten the nightmare of, he also experiences those dreams for himself, and some nightmares have very taxing effects on his body and mind. Needless to say, it has had a slightly psychological effect on him.Personality:
Eli smiles on the inside. On the outside he shows very little expression except for in his eyes, which is where people generally have to look to get his reactions to things. But he is in actuality a very cheerful person, always willing to help out. The lack of expression is more or less something that he simply grew up with.
He's very clumsy, often tripping over things and making a mess of things. Ironically, the one thing he doesn't trip over is his own hair. He does get scared easily enough, which is also ironic considering the number of nightmares he consumes. But he never lets anyone know that he /is/ scared. If he's frightened enough he'll simply retreat into his room.
And hide under his covers sniffing out unicorn dreams for the rest of the day
He's always willing to help those that he likes, but if someone steps in his way or comes across him in the wrong way, or most importantly hurts his friends, he will quite literally give them hell to pay. Background:
Elijah's family came from Japan, although he himself was not born in the country of his ancestors. Instead, he was born in Scotland, given an English named, and raised learning both Japanese and English. Because he has never actually been to his parents' country, he has a mainly Scottish accent. His parents, like him, are Dreameaters.
When he was five, his mother attempted to eat a Nightmare that went bad, leaving her wrapped in the confines of the memories of it. She went mentally crazy, and Elijah, in a fit of both fear and compassion for his mother, claimed that he would never eat a dream. To this day, he still gets nervous eating Nightmares in the fear that he will wind up in the same position as his mother. He and his father took care of her for many years, living in a small house in an equally small village in an attempt to keep her hidden from society. Elijah's mother grew better, but she would never be what she had used to be before. Still, Eli cared deeply for his mother, and no matter what had strong faith in her full recovery.
But when he was eleven, the promise that he had made to himself to never eat a dream came to an abrupt halt. He had been playing outside when he smelled it, a scent like black licorice coming from nearby. As he crept down the road, he noticed a young child that had fallen asleep, crying in her rest through a nightmare that plagued her. Eli was torn, but in the end, the little girl's nightmare was the first dream he ever ate, and gave him confidence that he was born, like his parents before him, for a reason, and it was to help people. Even if, in his mother's case, it went wrong.
He accepted himself as a Dreameater, continuing to care for his mother as he grew up. When he was eighteen, his father asked him to leave the house, telling him only that he needed to find his own place in the world. Eli reluctantly left, and a year later found himself in a small apartment that he had worked hard to rent for himself. Of course, this didn't last long, for not even a week after he moved in, he received a mysterious letter . . .
And as soon as he read it, he found himself at Crepuscule Estate.Classes:
Black Magic, Potions.uhuhu I noticed after deciding on Dreameater that there was another one in the group but I find it funny cause Eli is the total opposite of the other so this is gon' be fun *v*
